Arty-fact Theatre Company Visit Abbotsholme

On the 7 November 2011,  the Arty-fact Theatre Company, (actually three performers), came to perform in our school theatre. They acted out key scenes from ‘Macbeth’ to the Year 9s and ‘Romeo and Juliet’ for the Year 8 pupils.

During the play the actors asked for volunteers to go down and help act in a particular scene and often the action would be ‘frozen’ to capture the characters’ emotions and feelings at a certain point. They also asked questions about the different scenes and discussed particular issues with us. This helped reinforce our learning and understanding of the play.

It was a great afternoon and very useful. It helped improve my understanding of ‘Romeo and Juliet’.

Henry Sanderson - (Year 8)

On Monday, the Arty-fact Theatre Company came in to present the key scenes from ‘Macbeth’ to reinforce our understanding of the play. They did this through acting out a scene then asking us our views about it and then re-enacting it through our perspective.

The experience helped with our understanding of the play and gave us inspiration for our English Core Tasks.

It was an enjoyable afternoon.

Florence Miller - (Year 9)
