Year 11 GCSE Business Studies – Cookie Challenge


Year 11 students where tasked with researching, designing and developing their very own cookie. All students created a questionnaire resulting in quantitative and qualitative data which they then analysed and turned into percentages. It was then their homework to create a cookie based upon their market research. We had a brilliant mixture of flavours including salted caramel, coffee, oats, chocolate chips and marshmallows. Students also researched the texture of preferred cookies and we had a mixture of soft/gooey centres and crunchy consistencies. This activity is designed to show business students how important market research is and how it impacts on a business’ marketing mix. The overall winner was Jemima Brown who created two types of cookies, one with chocolate chips and another with chocolate and marshmallows.
