Year 3 & 4 Mock Elections

On Thursday, Year 3 & 4 had LRC lessons on the General Election. They learnt all about the different party leaders and their manifestos. They also learned about how to vote in a polling station and how to do this. During chapel, they listened to the older students who took on the role of political candidates, as they gave speeches about their proposed policies and had a debate, following questions from the chapel audience. On their return to the classroom, the class filled in a polling card which would enable them to vote and then each entered our role play area where they anonymously voted for one of the main parties. We then waited overnight and then announced which party had the most candidates, the very next day. Our vote was five votes to the Green party and nine votes to the Conservative Party.
