Lambing Report - Tuesday 13 March 2012

14.03.12

Last night Amelia Woodruff and Alex Field were on lambing duty. When they went out for their 5.00am check they found a ewe that had produced one healthy lamb which was up on its legs, feeding. They penned her up away from the other ewes and then examined her. There was another lamb coming which Amelia delivered whilst Alex held the ewe steady; they swapped jobs and Alex was able to deliver a third lamb. All three were up drinking within minutes, an indication of a well managed delivery. The first born was female so they called her Girty as she was the thirtieth lamb to be born at Abbotsholme this spring.
