The Spanish Armada

On Friday two sets of Year 8 pupils refought the Spanish Armada. After a quick game of Rock-Paper-Scissors to decide which set was the Spanish Armada they set sail for battle.

Set 2 sailed bravely up the channel showing some interesting sailing (and acting) skills. The British (Set 1) were ready for them, but they waited for them to meet up with their soldiers in Flanders. They then played a trick. British ships were sent into the harbour on fire to scare the
Spanish (more great acting ensued). The Spanish duly scattered. The faster British ships were then able to destroy some of the Armada. Then the great British weather came to the rescue, forcing many Spanish ships onto to the rocky Scottish and Irish beaches. The English therefore beat the Spanish twice in one weekend.
