On Sunday 19 February a group of Abbotsholme fencers travelled to Stratford Upon Avon for the West Midlands Regional Qualifiers. Amelia Bedson,
Matthias Owen-Sinclair and Olivia Owen-Sinclair competed in the U16 and U14 Foil category. All three were able to finish in the top three places in their heats and thus earn a place in the National Final that will beheld in Sheffield. This was an excellent achievement for the group.
Bradley Roberts and Reuben Wilderspin competed in the U16 Sabre category. It was difficult for these two boys, who have relatively little competition experience at this level. Most of their opponents already have several years of fencing experience and a number of them are in the Great Britain squad.
