Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child

In the junior department over the last couple of weeks the children have been bringing in lots of lovely goodies to fill up shoe boxes as part of the Abbotsholme commitment to Operation Christmas Child.

Samaritans Purse is a Christian relief and development organisation which works closely with families across Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Every year they organise Operation Christmas Child which is the largest Christmas project in the world, asking people to fill a shoe box with surprises for children who are less fortunate. Abbotsholme children had to first decide what age range their shoebox would be most appropriate for, 2-4 years, 5-9 Years or 10-14 years and also whether it was to be for a boy or a girl.

All the pupils who participated enjoyed packing up the parcels in Christmas paper knowing that their help with this charity would make a difference to a child somewhere else in the world.

Thank you also to the parents who have helped to support this worthy cause by way of donations.
