Abbotsholme School welcomes Sunday night favourite and top TV show ‘Countryfile’ for a day’s filming


Abbotsholme hosted Countryfile at the school today with Sixth Form Agriculture pupils taking centre stage with presenters Matt Baker and Ellie Harrison.

BTEC Agriculture Year 13 pupils Rachel Hames (Farm Manager) aged 17 from Derby, Ben Collier from Stone, Staffordshire, Gregory King from Belper, Derbyshire, Tara Witcomb from Rocester, Staffordshire all aged 18, and Year 12 pupils Alice Wood from Chesterfield, Derbyshire, and Adam Wright from Lutterworth, Leicestershire both aged 16 were central to the filming on the school farm today with Matt Baker and Ellie Harrison two of the presenters from Countryfile.

Two crews were on site throughout the day filming various scenes and stories for Countryfile, and Abbotsholme School is set to appear on the show on Sunday 21st February 2016.

Countryfile is currently one of the top rated shows on TV and pulled in a record 8.1 million viewers in its recent broadcast making it the most watched programme of the weekend.
