Forage and Harvest Theme Weekend


This weekend the boarders spent Friday night harvesting the Orchard House apple and pear trees. We also walked around the school grounds and foraged for blackberries, elderberries and damsons. To reward all of the efforts the whole boarding community came together on Saturday night in Orchard House for takeaway pizzas, s'mores and hot chocolates around the fire pit.

All day Sunday was spent baking a wide variety of sweet treats in the school food technology kitchen. The students took ownership of their recipes and enjoyed cooking with the produce. They then shared it in the dining hall as the desert for their Sunday roast, alongside clotted cream and custard.

Pupils managed to fit this in alongside, riding lessons, shopping trips, assignments, and a little bit of time to relax over the busy weekend.
