Abbotsholmes Cricket Festival started with the 1st XI playing an Old Abbotsholmian team.
The OA Captain, Chris Davies, won the toss and the 1st XV batted first on a beautiful day and flat wicket.
William Hudson was dismissed early in a controversial fashion, however, technology later upheld the umpires excellent decision. "The camera and the scorebook do not lie". The school scored 148 runs, Michael Wells top scoring on 48.
The OAs made a good chase which included a Ed Kelly and Chris Davies partnership of 60. However, they fell short with a score just less than the required total after 25 overs.
Good Luck! to the 1st XI in the Cricket Festival taking place here a Abbotsholme for the rest of this week.
