Young Farmers Club (YFC)
Abbotsholme Young Farmers Club began in 2013 and it became the tenth YFC in Staffordshire. Abbotsholme YFC is the only School YFC in the country and we are very proud of all the achievements of the club in the last 18 months.
Since its inception, the Club has gone from strength to strength, and this year it recruited 32 members. Abbotsholme YFC welcomes pupils from age 11 into its membership.
Abbotsholme YFC is a very active club and some recent events and activities have included a country float competition, turkey competition, pool competition, film night, hammer challenge, public speaking debate, hosted the county rally, bowling and cinema events, indoor hockey visit, summer bbq, and county cricket competition.
In 2014, Abbotsholme YFC entered the Float Competition at the County Show and won second place, and third in the name plate on a tractor competition. Additionally, Toby Hall, aged 13, won the West Midlands Junior Young Farmer of the Year this year.
The club is run by the pupils. The committee includes:
