Dinner for two... or four!

Year 11 pupils, George and Ollie, whilst experiencing the Sixth Form this week, got to 'taste' not only a Year 12 lesson but also a meal from an 1870 Parisian cafe. 99 Days into the Prussian siege of Paris, much of the city's population were starving and turned to other, less traditional sources of food. The cafe in question helped to depopulate the Paris Zoo! Hence, not only Year 11 pupils but the Year 12s and 13s got to 'sample' comsomme d'éléphant. Elsewhere on the menu were delights such as, camel goujons, cat with a side order of rats and asses head with sardines and buttered beans. Mmmmmm tasty.
