Abbotsholme Students Celebrate GCSE Success

Pupils and staff at Abbotsholme School are celebrating success in their GCSE results. 100% A*-C pass rates achieved in Business Studies, Hospitality and Catering, Drama, French, Further Maths, German and Photography are testimony to the hard work of teaching staff and pupils. A* and A grades are up by 31%. The overall pass rate of A*-C grades is 76% showing a continued upward trend, and part of an ongoing investment in raising academic standards for our inclusive intake of pupils.

Headmaster Matthew Boud-Self said, “Pupils and staff have worked hard to improve on the 2015-16 results. Looking to the future Abbotsholme School will be defined by high expectations, academic rigour and the continued development of the all-round character of our pupils.”

Many of our pupils will return to Sixth Form life in September studying a range of A Level and BTEC subjects including Sport, Agriculture and the full range of academic subjects. Sixth Form boarding pupils live in the School’s log cabin complex, where they have the opportunity for semi-independent living preparing them for their next step in life.

Well done to Abbotsholme School’s 2016-17 GCSE cohort.
