Electric Car

On Wednesday 3 May Mr Thomas took the Year 7 and 9’s to Rockingham for the Electric Car season opener races.

We came to school at 6.00am and left at 6.20am. The journey was very rough for some people, maybe because they just woke up, but eventually we did get to Rockingham Motor Speedway. Before we got out of the minibus, Mr Thomas gave us a briefing of what will happen and how we will work together.

After that we lifted the Electric Car (Cecil) out of the trailer and started checking it. At this point everyone was doing a job and then we went to scrutineering, we made it through, then some people went to the pit lane for a briefing for the races and all the rules.

Then it came up to the practice laps. Everyone had at least two laps in the car, but the people who weren’t in the races were allowed more than five laps in the practice.

Then it came to the first season opener race where we came 13th out of 26 which is a huge improvement. We should be very pleased with ourselves as we came 13th in a season opener so well done to the team.

But now we are preparing and modifying the cars for the next race which is in early July.
