Year 10 Camps 2017

The Year 10 camp is a challenge to complete a 30 mile journey across The Lake District using boats, bikes and boots.

This year we were graced with blue skies and sunshine for the duration of the camp, which was a blessing, and helped with the good feeling around camp.

All the pupils involved really challenged themselves, discovering what is possible with a little bit of extra effort and determination. A lot of the pupils went beyond expectation and added extra distance each day. Here are the results of each days challenge resulting in a total of 36 miles travelled:

Day 1 – Canoe Lake Windemere – 6.5km

Day 2 – Mountain Bike Grizedale Forest – 22.5km

Day 3 – Walk Wetherlam, Swirl How & The Old Man of Coniston – 17.5km

Day 4 – Canoe Consiton Water – 11km

The whole year group demonstrated a great togetherness, helping and encouraging each other throughout the camp. The positivity and motivation demonstrated by the pupils really helped with the success of the camp, and all pupils should be really proud of their individual and team achievements.
