Boarding In Touch

The end of March saw us reach the end of another busy and exciting term, it’s wonderful to look back on all the fantastic experiences our students have enjoyed both in and out of school.

This term has been filled with memorable trips and opportunities. Students explored the shops and sights of Sheffield, took to the ice for a fun-filled skating session, and brought their competitive spirit to the bowling alley. A highlight for many was our visit to Nottingham, where shopping was paired with an engaging city-wide treasure hunt. Sports enthusiasts enjoyed the thrill of live football in Derby, while our trip to Cadbury World proved a firm favourite - perfectly timed for some Easter treats. To round things off, laser tag delivered plenty of energy, teamwork and laughter.

We were also delighted to welcome an immersion group from China for two weeks. Their enthusiasm and positivity brought a wonderful energy to our community, and it was clear they thoroughly enjoyed experiencing life at Abbotsholme and taking part in our activities.

Back on campus, the pace has been just as vibrant. Students have immersed themselves in a wide range of activities; from cooking and creative arts to a variety of sports. There have also been moments to pause and recharge, with yoga sessions, alongside lively karaoke evenings that proved a hit across the school.

As we head into the Easter break, many of our GCSE and A Level boarders will be turning their focus towards revision. This is an important period, and we encourage students to approach it with both discipline and balance - making time for focused, high-quality revision, while also allowing space to rest, reset and recharge. Striking that balance is key to maintaining wellbeing and performing at their best.

It has been a term defined by energy, creativity and new experiences, and we are incredibly proud of all our students have achieved. We look ahead to the summer term with the same sense of momentum.
