Abbotsholme School provides a boarding experience rich in opportunities for both academic and personal growth, where lifelong friendships flourish in an environment filled with adventure and joy.
The boarding facilities and associated pastoral care at Abbotsholme are excellent, and those who choose this option will enjoy a truly memorable educational experience, enhanced by a superb range of opportunities. Mindful that it is their home for much of the year, we listen carefully to our boarder’s feedback to ensure we consistently deliver the best possible experience for everyone. Consequently, boarding is an appealing option even for those who live within commuting distance, with approximately one third of pupils opting for full, weekly, or flexi boarding arrangements.
Our boarding community compromises pupils from various countries around the world, contributing to the culturally rich and wonderfully diverse environment Abbotsholme is proud of.
Our Boarding Houses
Our Boarding Houses offer rooms designed to accommodate different ages and genders in the most appropriate manner. Each boarding house provides a reassuring, homely environment and gives access to the wonderful range of facilities located on our beautiful sprawling 140-acre school campus.
We offer three primary boarding houses in the senior school, each supervised by house parents who oversee the care of pupils from Year 6 to Year 13. Our boarding facilities offer a range of options to meet each individual's needs, including flexible accommodation for a few nights each week, a weekly boarding option from Monday to Friday and full boarding that includes weekends.

With an exceptional breadth of extracurricular opportunities available, boarding at Abbotsholme School offers a transformative and enriching experience for every pupil. Each day presents new and wonderful opportunities for pupils to take advantage of the fantastic activities both within the school and across our extensive 140-acre campus. On weekends, we organise trips to exciting locations beyond the school grounds to further enrich, inspire, and entertain our young boarders.
