Outside the UK

Abbotsholme School holds a proud tradition of welcoming pupils from all corners of the world, regularly receiving enquiries from Asia, Europe, Africa and South American. Our pupils from overseas are a valued part of the Abbotsholme community and they are fully integrated into the student body, participating in our mainstream curriculum and our extensive extra-curricular activities.

For overseas pupils at Abbotsholme who are non-native speakers, we offer language support during their time at Abbotsholme. All international pupils participate in our ‘British Cultural Enrichment Programme’, which integrates the British pupils with their international peers.

Academically, the English as an Additional Language (EAL) department offers courses according to the needs of each pupil, whether it be general use of the English language, the Cambridge suite of exams or the IGCSE in ESL. International pupils entering Sixth Form are coached for the IELTS exam in Academic English.

Our admissions team work with agents across various countries to help guide families through the Abbotsholme application process. If you would like to represent Abbotsholme as an agent, please email our Registrar, Charlotte Gallimore on c.gallimore@abbotsholme.co.uk

If you are looking for information regarding visas or guardianships, please do not hesitate to contact our Registrar on the email above provided above. We are proud to also be in partnership with AEGIS.

Abbotsholme School offers a wonderful environment where pupils grow and thrive. There are no exeat weekends, and international Boarding Plus pupils are welcome to stay at Abbotsholme during half terms. We are happy to accept overseas pupils from all countries from the age of nine upwards, if the pupil is happy to board.

We are excited to welcoming international pupils into the Abbotsholme community to experience life at a traditional British school.
