Boarding In Touch

We have had a wonderfully dynamic period in boarding, filled with activities, trips and plenty of half-term fun.
We hope you all enjoyed either a fun-filled or relaxing half term. The pupils certainly looked like they did as they returned with big smiles, and it was a pleasure to welcome them back.
Our junior boarders enjoyed a trip to Nottingham, where they took part in a town centre treasure hunt, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Some of our Sixth Form students also visited Flip Out in Stoke-on-Trent, which proved to be just as much fun and a great way to burn off some energy.
We also said goodbye to our visiting immersion students from China. We very much hope they enjoyed their time with us and wish them every success in the future.
Students also had the opportunity to visit the Snow Dome for some winter-themed fun, enjoy shopping in Manchester, and take part in a day of karting. The karting was particularly memorable, with students relishing the chance to give staff a real challenge on the track!
Students and staff also attended the football match between Derby County and Blackburn Rovers at Pride Park Stadium. It was an exciting experience for everyone, and both students and staff were thrilled to be part of the lively atmosphere. For many of our international students, this was a wonderful opportunity to experience British football culture first hand, from the energy of the crowd to the passion of the supporters. It was a truly memorable and authentic experience.
We also organised a bowling trip for those who remained on site, which was thoroughly enjoyed. Back on campus, we continued to offer a wide range of activities to ensure there was something for everyone. The sports hall, gym and food technology rooms were well used, and it was lovely to see students staying active, socialising and making the most of their time together.
It has been a busy and exciting period in boarding, and we look forward to many more activities and opportunities ahead.
