A total of 20 keen GCSE and A Level Art and Photography students attended the weekend Art Boost session, spending the entire day immersed in the Creative Arts Department and focused on developing their portfolios.
Throughout the session, students worked with real purpose and enthusiasm, refining existing pieces and exploring new ideas. The quality of work produced over the day was outstanding, with students clearly demonstrating their determination to achieve their full potential.
The weekend boost proved to be a highly productive and inspiring opportunity, giving students valuable time, space to get messy, and expert support from their Teachers to push their creative work to the next level!
Meanwhile, rehearsals are well underway for the school’s upcoming production of Legally Blonde, set to hit the stage in March. The cast and crew have been working tirelessly, including dedicated weekend rehearsals, with energy, commitment, and plenty of pink powering every session as the show really begins to take shape. Excitement is already building around the school for what promises to be a fun, high-energy performance that audiences won’t want to miss.
And as if that wasn’t enough, preparations are also in progress for the much-anticipated Icons Showcase, celebrating creativity across the arts. The showcase will highlight talent from across the department, featuring music from the likes of Elton John, Cher, Taylor Swift, Madonna, Ed Sheeran and more. It is shaping up to be an iconic event in the school calendar!
It’s hard to know how Mr Lewis, Mrs Cooper and the rest of the Creative Arts team find the energy - but once again they are going above and beyond to create unforgettable opportunities for students.
