VetPath Summer School - Veterinary Medicine & Animal Science Programme
Based on our 140-acre campus with a full working farm and a BHS-accredited equine centre, Abbotsholme offers unmatched access to real animals and facilities - no other summer school provides this level of hands-on experience.
During this intensive two-week programme at Abbotsholme, you’ll step directly into the world of veterinary and animal care practice through immersive, hands-on learning.
Set within our rural campus environment, you won’t just observe - you’ll actively take part. From structured clinical workshops and animal handling sessions to live case discussions based on real scenarios, you’ll practise essential skills under expert supervision. You’ll carry out examinations, develop clinical reasoning, and gain meaningful experience working with animal patients in a supportive setting.
Working in small groups means you’ll receive individual guidance as you build confidence in animal welfare, clinical techniques, and professional decision-making. Alongside the practical experience, you’ll attend a dedicated vet school preparation masterclass, where you’ll receive tailored advice on applications, interviews, and how to strengthen your portfolio.
By the end of the programme, you won’t just understand what a career in veterinary medicine involves - you’ll have experienced it.
