Maths Teacher
An exciting opportunity exists for a Maths Teacher to join our vibrant team. We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic teacher who is able to promote a love of mathematics inside and outside the classroom. The right candidate will be inspiring and relish the opportunity to teach Maths across all Key Stages including A level.

Responsibilities & duties as a teacher
Academic
1. To plan and deliver high quality and inspirational lessons.
2. To set regular assignments (homework) for the pupils, in accordance with the school policy.
3. To provide appropriate feedback for pupils on their work, including regular marking and attendance at parents’ evenings.
4. To maintain appropriate records of pupils’ progress.
5. To monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of work and modify planning and teaching as appropriate.
6. To produce periodic reports and assessment grades for pupils, in line with the school schedule.
7. To maintain an attractive learning environment for the pupils.
8. To contribute to or write schemes of work for teaching groups.
9. To follow relevant school and departmental policies, for example the marking policy.
10. To keep abreast of national educational initiatives, debates and best practice within the subject, through attendance at INSET courses, as appropriate.
11. To fulfil specific departmental duties as detailed on the separate role-specific description (see above).
Pastoral
1. To be aware of the physical and emotional wellbeing of the pupils.
2. To promote and safeguard the welfare of pupils, liaising with other staff as necessary, including the School Health Advisor and Safeguarding Team.
3. To understand and implement all welfare and safeguarding policies, such as health and safety, child protection, safety on educational visits and attendance.
4. To fulfil the role of a tutor.
General
1. To attend weekly staff meetings at times organised by the SLT.
2. To share in the rota of break, lunchtime and evening supervision duties, as applicable.
3. To share in the covering for colleagues on short-term absence.
4. To contribute to the provision of extra-curricular activities, including the annual school ‘Hikes’ and, if needed, participation in a camp, during the summer term.
5. To contribute to the marketing of the school through attending periodic school open days.
6. To undertake any other reasonable requests of the Headmaster.
7. To role model and support the school’s Behavioural Charter principles of honesty, integrity, humility, courage and respect.

Assistant Houseparent
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic assistant houseparent to work within our boarding team.
This role would be perfect for a person with a “can do” attitude who may be considering a career in Education and is passionate about quality pastoral care.
The role is for two evenings/overnight per week, two further evenings in the week until plus one weekend per month (Friday until Monday morning)
Working within the Boarding department, the assistant houseparent will take an active interest in the lives of the pupils in the house. They will be responsible for supporting houseparents’ in promoting welfare and safety standards along with planning activities for all the boarding students in their house.
This position can be residential (self-contained accommodation provided) or the member of staff could live off-site on the understanding that they will stay in the boarding house during their overnight shifts, in staff duty accommodation.
Some previous experience of working with children is essential.

Domestic Assistant
We are looking for two reliable and enthusiastic people to join our domestic team. Must be able to work well on own initiative and consistently deliver a high standard of cleaning.
There are two roles available:
Role 1
15 hours per week (3 hours per day)
5.00pm - 8.00pm
Working 5 days out of 7
This is a term time only (40 weeks per year)
Role 2
32.5 hours per week (6.5 hours per day)
6.00am - 12.30pm
Working 5 days out of 7
This is a 52 week a year role

Kitchen/Catering Assistant
Abbotsholme caters for pupils, staff and visitors, providing excellent food and great service. The duties for this role will include, serving customers in a polite and friendly manner, basic food preparation, ensuring the dining room and kitchen are kept clean, tidy and safe.
Ideal Candidate

- Basic Food Safety an advantage but training will be given

Lead Teacher - Outdoor Education
Lead Teacher – Outdoor Education
We are seeking a capable, well-motivated individual to provide inspirational leadership of Outdoor Education, organising and sharing in the delivery of a unique and large-scale programme of outdoor activities, within the school curriculum and beyond. This includes timetabled lessons, DofE Award expedition training, weekend trips and international expeditions.
Reporting to the Deputy Head, the successful individual will:
- Teach and co-ordinate BTEC (Level 2 & Level 3)
- Have a passion for the role of outdoor activity in shaping and developing young people.
- Have charisma, energy and enthusiasm.
- Display optimism, a can-do attitude and a desire for continuous improvement.
- Be thorough and committed in supporting pupils.
- Be able to teach and coach a range of adventure activities, based on a good range of NBG qualifications.
- Be prepared for part of their work to be at weekends and in school holiday time.
- Manage the resources of the department, which include fleets of kayaks and canoes, comprehensive stocks of camping equipment, a permanent orienteering course and an indoor climbing wall.

Laundry Assistant
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic person to work in our laundry.
Principal Responsibilities:
· Organise labelling of personalised clothing.
· Launder all clothing items and press uniform.
· Clean and sanitise washing machines and dryers.
· Report on worn out or damaged laundry items.
· General cleaning and tidying of the laundry.
20 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days per week.
Term time only
Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week
Salary: £10.58 per hour
