Up to 30 hours per week are funded by EYF for 3-5 year olds.

For 2024, Abbotsholme School will offer an increased Military discount of 20% up to Year 9 and 22.5% from Year 10 to Year 13 to all forces families.

Sibling discounts are applicable where a family has two or more children in the School at any one time from Reception year upwards and where the family is not in receipt of a bursary or other fee remission assistance.

Discounts available will be 5% for the second child in the School at any one time, 10% for the third and 15% for the fourth (or more) child(ren) in the School at any one time.

An acceptance deposit is payable to secure a place at Abbotsholme School and is refundable upon the pupil leaving, subject to no outstanding debt.

The acceptance deposit is charged at:

· £500 for UK pupils

· £1000 for European pupils

· £8000 for International pupils

INCLUSIVE FEES COVER

Our fees include the following (but they are not limited to):

· Hikes and camps

· Text books (unless lost or not returned on time)

· Laundry – except dry cleaning (Boarders only)

· Lunch and break time snacks

· Transport to school fixtures

· Curriculum related trips e.g. Geography GCSE Field Trips, Business Studies Field Trips etc

· One entry to an NSEA event per term

· All materials required for the completion of courses except for specialist materials for certain projects e.g. Art, DT, revision booklets. Notification of additional costs exceeding £50 will be provided in advance.

 

We endeavour to keep extra charges to a minimum, so the following charges will be applied if you opt in or wish to participate:

· Personal Accident Insurance (All pupils)

· Personal Effects Insurance (All pupils)

· Morrisby Careers Test (Year 11 pupils)

· Certain materials required for practical subjects or hobbies (eg Art and DT – costs in excess of £50 will be notified in advance)

· School publications e.g. annual Abbotsholmian Magazine

· Hire of musical instruments and cost of music accessories/sheet music

· Transport and escort charges to dental/medical trips

· Socials e.g. Formal Dinners – a notional charge of £10 will apply

· One-to-one ESL tuition will be charged at £40 an hour

· Duke of Edinburgh qualification will be charged per term during qualifying years of Bronze (£100) , Silver (£150) and Gold (£300)

· All extra-curricular trips (e.g. additional theatre trips, London trips etc) will be charged additionally by prior agreement with parents and guardians. This will enable us to provide a greater variety of trips.

· Music lessons per hour

· Riding lessons per hour

In common with most other independent schools, fees do not include external examination charges. However, for exam sessions in 2024/2025, the school will charge 25% of the total exam fee per pupil. This will be reviewed annually.

The School cannot normally advance cash to pupils or purchase personal items on their behalf. Parents are requested to ensure that pupils have sufficient cash for their needs including travelling and for university interviews etc.

All school fees must be settled in full by the first day of the term. Any payment plans that deviate from this must be approved in writing in advance by the Headmistress.

We offer a 1.5% discount for fees paid in advance for UK residents. To be eligible for this discount, you must have signed the Fees in Advance agreement which is available from the Finance Office.

 

We strongly encourage all parents to make payments via direct debit. Details can be obtained from the Finance Office. A fee of £10 will be charged for any Direct Debit returned to the School unpaid to cover bank charges and administration costs. Additionally, late payments will incur interest as outlined below.

 

Interest will be charged on outstanding amounts at a rate of 3% per year above the Bank of England base rate. Unless otherwise specified in writing, this interest will accumulate on a daily basis from the due date until the actual payment of the overdue account.

 

The school reserves the right to regretfully remove a pupil should fees remain unpaid following two reminder letters.

A full term's notice in writing is required, as per the school's terms and conditions. It must be given by parents or guardians to the Headmistress on or before the first day of the term. A term's fees in lieu of notice will be charged if notice is not received. Please do contact the Headmistress directly should you wish to consider withdrawing your child. We care deeply about the children in our care and there are always opportunities for us to find a way forwards before final decisions are made.

Abbotsholme welcomes current pupils into the boarding community at anytime of the year, space permitting.

 

To enable our Day pupils to experience our Boarding provision, all of our Day pupils are entitled to a number of taster Boarding nights (subject to availability). All Day students are offered 5 nights of Boarding each year subject to availability. Thereafter, a fee of £65 per night is payable.

 

Boarding includes international, full, weekly and flexi. If a pupil wishes to change their current boarding option or become a day pupil, a term’s notice in writing is required.
