Outside the UK
Abbotsholme has a proud tradition of welcoming students from across the globe and regularly receives enquiries from Asia, Europe, Africa and South America. Pupils from overseas are a valued part of the Abbotsholme community. They are fully integrated into the student body and participate in both the mainstream curriculum and the extensive extra-curricular activity timetable. Non-native speakers are offered language support throughout their time at Abbotsholme. All international students participate in our ‘British Cultural Enrichment programme’, which integrates the British pupils with their international peers.
Academically, the EAL department offers courses according to each student’s needs, whether it be general English, the Cambridge suite of exams or the IGCSE. in ESL. Those entering the Sixth Form are coached for the IELTS exam in Academic English.
All Abbotsholme students are fully supported throughout the University application process. In the last three years, of our foreign students wishing to study at university level in an English-speaking country, 100% were accepted and took up their chosen degree course.
To help us guide families through the Abbotsholme application process we work with agents in various countries. If you would like to represent Abbotsholme as an agent then please email our Registrar, Charlotte Gallimore on c.gallimore@abbotsholme.co.uk and we would be glad to develop links.
If you are seeking information regarding visas or guardianships please also do not hesitate to contact our Registrar on the above email address. We are also in partnership with AEGIS.
We offer a wonderful setting where students can grow and develop. There are no exeat weekends and international Boarding Plus students are welcome to stay with us during half terms.
We accept overseas pupils from all countries from age nine upwards if the pupil is wanting to board. Pupils will be allocated into a year group relevant to their age.
We look forward to welcoming International Pupils to the Abbotsholme family and to experience life at a traditional British School.
