Our setting

We at Abbotsholme are a nursery that is suitable to anyone from the age of 2. We offer a very caring, nurturing and a family like environment! Our nursery is based on the grounds of Abbotsholme School, which means that our children have access to amazing facilities and they get involved with countless activities whilst they are with us. The wonderful facilities that Abbotsholme has to offer, both indoors and out, will provide your child with a broad range of experiences to support and enhance them as a unique child.

Our staff

Our experienced and enthusiastic staff follow the interests of each individual child to ensure that they make good progress in all areas of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage). We work in close partnership with parents and carers to ensure we support every child’s strengths and weaknesses. We believe that each child deserves the best possible start to their learning and development in a secure, safe and happy setting. 

What do we have on offer?

Children will gain a broad range of knowledge and skills that provide them with a solid foundation in readiness for school. We provide an environment that will allow children to make positive relationships both with their carers and their peers, encouraging confidence and independence.

Our child led approach encourages all our children to become critical thinkers and provide them with the experiences and opportunities they need to support their learning and development.

Our Nursery currently has three classes - the Caterpillars (2-3 years), the Butterflies (3 years) and the Pre-Prep (4 years), however our children get to spend a lot of time together, which supports their development and communication skills. 

Whatever the weather, we make full use of the extensive grounds such as the Mud Patch, the Dingle and Top Wood which provide stimulating woodland environments. Following children’s interests we support and extend their learning to maximise every opportunity. Our children have access to a wide range of activities and facilities, including various playgrounds, the Indoor Climbing Centre, the Equestrian Centre and the farm, to name a few. 

Transition from Butterflies class to Reception class is seamless because we work closely together as an early years unit. Children develop in a nurturing and familiar setting where staff form good relationships with children and parents.
